Brand: Kryolan

Key Benefits:-

  • Precise Application: The wedge shape, especially the pointed tip and edges, allows for controlled and detailed application of make-up in hard-to-reach areas like the corners of the eyes and around the nose.
  • Uniform Blending: They help to spread cream or liquid foundation smoothly and evenly, which can prevent a cakey appearance and achieve a flawless finish.
  • Versatility: The sponges can be used with a variety of cosmetic products, including liquid foundation, cream blush, concealer, BB creams, and even some powders.
  • Hygienic Option: These sponges are often sold in multi-packs, like the 6-piece, and can be used as a disposable option, which ensures a fresh and hygienic application every time, particularly useful for professional makeup artists or shared vanity stations.
  • Customizable Texture (FX): For special effects (SFX) makeup, the natural latex can be used to achieve specific, uneven textures by picking or tearing the edges, making them a versatile tool for creative applications.
  • Ease of Use: They are lightweight and easy to handle, fitting into a basic makeup routine for both novices and professionals.

Step 1: Prepare the sponge

  • Wet the sponge: Hold the sponge under running water, letting it absorb water. For a dewier application, a damp sponge is ideal.
  • Squeeze out excess water: Gently squeeze the sponge repeatedly to release excess water.
  • Dampen, don't soak: The sponge should be damp but not dripping wet. You can also wrap it in a towel to absorb any remaining moisture.

Step 2: Apply makeup

  • For a lighter finish (damp sponge): Dab a small amount of foundation onto the back of your hand or a clean surface, then dip the damp sponge into the product and apply it to your face by bouncing or tapping the sponge.
  • For fuller coverage (dry sponge): A dry sponge is better for picking up more product and is recommended for cream or liquid formulas when you want a more matte, full-coverage finish.
  • Use the right part of the sponge: Use the pointed tip for hard-to-reach areas like around the nose or eyes. Use the larger, rounded or flat side for blending larger areas of the face.

Step 3: Blend and set

  • Blend: Gently bounce or tap the sponge across the skin to blend the product for a seamless, airbrushed look. Avoid swiping, which can cause streaking.
  • Set: A dry sponge can also be used to lightly press powder over makeup in areas that tend to get oily, similar to a powder puff.
